Oper.io is my contribution back to the world's largest knowledgebase in history: the internet. Here I document my various experiences with technology and anything else I care to write about.

Who Am I

My name is Aaron Ball. Relevant to my profession, I am a Linux engineer and programmer with an unending curiosity to understand any and all systems. I love reverse engineering systems and trying to find more elegant solutions. Those things combined enable me to write or assemble software that automates just about any infrastructure task that is needed. I also love automating my own tasks as home (such as programatically fighting off botnets from my servers!).

Not relevant to my profession, I love studying spoken languages (English, Spanish, Dutch, French, Icelandic, Finnish, you name it), rock climbing, hiking our wonderful mountains here in Colorado, and swimming. I also love coffee, beer, whisky, and whiskey.

I thank God routinely for all the engineers He has put on this Earth to discover and make all the great things that have been made. The world is a complex and interesting place and there's nothing like poking at something until you figure out how it works.
